Separate family from grade
Anionic, cationic and nonionic describe broad polymer families, not interchangeable order codes. Within a family, the proposed molecular profile, supplied form and preparation method can differ. Ask for a written proposal with the exact code and a matching technical data sheet.
An existing product label can help begin the discussion, but it does not demonstrate equivalence. Keep the original sample or operating record available so that a proposed alternative can be compared under the same conditions.
Connect the purchase to an operating result
For sludge, define solids capture and cake handling. For mineral slurry, define overflow quality and underflow behaviour. Compare performance at a declared dose basis and record how the solution was prepared. Application requirements help turn a product request into a measurable trial.
Request a manageable starting set
Send the current product, application, equipment, trial quantity and destination. Ask which candidates can be supplied for testing and which documents accompany them. Sample availability, price and delivery arrangements require confirmation for the specific enquiry. Prepare the order brief before requesting commercial terms.
